This tune was intended to be the soundtrack of a short animated film. The primary percussion sound is white noise generated by Cool Edit Pro 2.0. The white noise was run through a phase shifter which produced slight variances in pitch and tone. Very short bursts of the filtered white noise were extracted and run through a delay program to create the 8th and 16th note rhythms. Then a tone generator was used to create the backwards-sounding tone clusters. This formed the backing track for the Rhodes piano. After a bounce mix, further overdubs were performed on glockenspiel, vibraphone, marimba, and the Baldwin grand piano in the Chapel Recital Hall of the VCU School of Music. (c) 2003 by LL.
